Carb Spindle Bore Wear & Rebush

Hi all,

I am rebuilding my CD 150's and I'm a little hung up on what we consider as "excessive" when it comes to spindle bore wear...

It feels sloppy to me and measures at about 5 thou a side clearance.

Your thoughts are welcomed!

I will glaldy rebush, but is it necessary.....?

Thanks!

Hello Craig,

how is the car running? If you are happy with it I wouldn't bother. Worn spindle bushes will be more noticeable at idle but when driving the small amount of extra air will be negligible, not an essential repair in my view?

Five to ten thou ....I shouldnt worry too much unless they `rattle` on wggling them around.
A friend rebored ours out and had sealed bearing pressed in when they became badly worn

Car isn't running at the moment mate, under restoration. only had the engine turning over briefly prior to removing the carb.

Not so much of a rattle I guess, might try live with it although I have a bee in my bonnet now and fancy the challange!
