daver clasper
Hi everyone. I have bought a secondhand pair of stromberg 150 cd's to rebuild for my vitesse. they have different diamphram securing plates (round with 4 securing screw holes). One is more chunkier (weighs 70g) than the other (15g). Photographs on gt6/vitesse factory manuel show the 2 diffrent ones on the stripping/rebuild section (not as different parts). My question is. Can I use these together as I assume they won't open and close at the same rate and also why are they different.Any help much appriciated.Dave. Pete Lewis
Dave, these must be a pair , the 2ltr vit used a lighter weight with a spring the heavy one is from a 1600 which did not have the springburlen dont list the specs ,,I had them some where but not surfaced just now. so 1600 had no spring heavy ( twice as thick weight) 2ltr has spring and thin weight depends where you search but looks like mk1 is also different to mk2 as models and specs evolved you seem to have a mixed pair re built by someone who didnt appreciate the subtle differences Pete

Stu 1986
I might be able to help you as I have light and heavy ones in my carb spares. I won't be able to check/get them for a week or so though.
daver clasper
Thanks stu for replying. If you have a spare, lighter one for sale that would be great. Also I have noticed that the spring is stretched towards one end. do you know if this would matter?.cheersDave
Pete Lewis
spring should be consistent along its length, think a new pair would be advisable Pete
