James1500
Hi, I'm looking to replace the boot floor in the spitfire and repaint the inside in the next few weeks, I was thinking while the car's mobile, to drive it up on to some ramps to make things a bit easier. Has anyone replaced the floor themselves? is it a major job? looks fairly accessible from top and bottom, thanks in advance :)

bob dunn
i put the floor into my car some time ago ,not to bad, all i can think of was to drill the hole in the floor for the petrol pipe before fitting.also you may find it easier to replace brake pipes in that area through the open floor. GTsixCA
JamesReplaced the boot floor in the past few years and it was pretty easy all things considered, the floor panel itself was just a shade too long (front to back) but other than a little re-shaping here and there it went in very well.If you have a spot welder then you should be set.Only welding issue with a spot welder is being able to access the front of the floor as the chassis is very close indeed, you might have to MIG that (unless you have some selection of electrodes). I overcame it as the body had to come off and so i waited and finished with the spot once removed.
