Hi everybody. I have recently bought a powerspark electronic ignition kit. My car is 67 vitesse 2ltre mk1, negative earth. my Lucas coil is currently wired as dizzy wire going to + terminal and ignition feed from harness to - terminal.
I understand this may have been done incorrectly and car will run ok under most conditions. There is also a wire from + terminal to a relay that is not live when ignition switched on. Could it have been wired this way to do with this?.
If not can I reverse the wiring back to normal and and run the relay wire to spare - terminal, or if not add an extra + terminal to coil make three and run it to here. The kit has two wires, red wire goes + coil terminal and black to - coil terminal. If done back to front will damage it apparently).
Hope this makes sense.
Any advice much appriciated.
Cheers

It does sound like somebody's put the coil in backwards, and you should probably fix that.

I have no idea what that relay is. My best guess would be a rev limiter? Or a not-very-good immobiliser? Either way, it sounds like a bad idea so I'd suggest removing it.
