WIMPUS Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I have a Spit 1500 with tandem master cylinder and a pwda valve .. how do i bleed the brakes ? i know you must do something with the pwda valve ..
phards Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I have done this ... gently. The trick is not to let the pdwa think there is a leak. So be gentle! It makes sense to me!Paul.

phards Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 I can see the attraction of clamping the pdwa - but if it wants to move it is hard to stop (yes, I have tried). For me, it was fine so long as you let the air out gently (no stamping on the pedal!).Have a go!(If you have problems ... have you rebuilt the master cylinder and put the two springs in the wrong way round ... that's what I did which is why I tried to clamp the pdwa!)Good luckPaul.
rotoflex Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 My US-spec GT6 has a tandem master cylinder and PDWA. As mentioned, the trick when bleeding is to be sort of soft-footed & slow.If the PDWA does get moved & the brake light comes on, there is a section in a shop manual somewhere about "re-centralising the PDWA".
