mazfg Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Just had a question regarding my Type 12 calipers. Having completely overhauled these and about to fit new seals and pistons. I was looking at the other smaller half of the caliper and wondered how any air would be displaced from it. There is only one hole, which is the path for the brake fluid. Even when the piston is pushed right in, there must be some air in there before fluid is pumped back into the whole system and I wondered how it finds its way out past the brake fluid? I can see no problem with the main half of the caliper as this has the bleed nipple on it.Thanks,
steve_1360 Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I always have problems bleeding these, I bleed normally then I pump the pistons out and then clamp the flexi. Push the piston back in again so the air goes out the nipple with some fluid.
