JohnD Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 £35 a set? Here, £7.80!: http://www.mintexbrakeshop.co.uk/index.php?view=product_listI've not done bussines with them, but first hit on Google search, and they're based in the next town to me.John Quote
Clive Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Nope, they are not 1144'sVery easy to miss the important suffix numbers with pads....Those will be fine for many drivers, but will not be a touch on the 1144's. Quote
JohnD Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Please explain, Clive?Merlin Motorpsort sell the same part no. but for the same £36. https://www.merlinmotorsport.c.....-talbot-mgb533-m1144Should the part No. be "mgb533-m1144" to be true 1144s?Anyway, 1144s are 'road' quality - good quality, but not a 'hot' material, if that is what you want Wimpus.John Quote

Clive Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 yep, MGB533 is the shape. The 1144 is the pad material, also 1155 and I think 1166. If no suffix they will be standard pads. Not anything like 1144 which are a good fast road sort of pad. To me they perform similarly to the old asbestos pads (which I currently have a good stock of!) Quote
JohnD Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 I am more educated! Thank you Clive and Wimpus! You might have saved me some money! If your driving style suits 1144 - fine!I went to 1155s for racing, and was surprised and pleased to find that thy are perfectly good for road use too. No excess pressure needed when cold.John Quote
