If you'd finish at 4:30am, then you would catch the crews racing God from Land's End at Ness Point but the majority will be running 24 hours earlier on Midsummers Night.

We have just reserved our accommodation and there are very few places left near Haverthwaite already. The great place we stayed when we drove the recce is totally booked out and we have booked at the The Rusland Pool Hotel, Newby Bridge, Ulverston which is about 1 mile from the start. It had a few rooms left yesterday.

Hoping to do the event this time, the start /finish was just too far away for me  this year as I have to be up at 5.30am for work on the Monday morning.
should  be good to go next year .   😊

Does anyone do this event as a solo driver?

A couple of idiots have tried. Not to be recommended given the distances involved and the fact it is overnight when your body naturally wants to sleep. Best to find a co-driver.

Definitely at least a crew of 2,-  3 is even better as one person can have a quick nap while the other 2 navigate/drive. Its a 13 hour overnight drive  so not recommended solo

also at least one crew member has to be a member of club triumph

The C2C regulations require a minimum of two drivers which is required for MsUK approval. Without this we cannot get police approval and the event would be illegal.

Hi, MJH - The Regulations do not permit an entrant to enter the event solo.

"Eligibility: The event is open to crews of two or more, with a minimum of two persons legally entitled to drive the vehicle. The maximum crew number shall not exceed the number of seats the car is insured for. The main entrant must be a Club Triumph member at both time of entry and the event, but crew members need not be Club Triumph members.

Vehicles: The event is open to any model of Standard or Triumph motor vehicle or special based upon a Standard or Triumph motor vehicle. The vehicle need not be owned by the main entrant."

If you do not have a co-driver, then The Organisers and the other Entrants can help you find one and I am sure that together we will find you one.  It often happens towards to date of the event there are late withdrawals and there are Entrants or Crew looking to join another team. Also, given what happened in 2024, if a genuine effort to prepare a car, or a sudden late failure precludes the use of a Triumph, an alternative contemporary marque car may be considered. We have had a Triumph 240Z start the event!

Hi again MJH, please would you provide some information about car, location and your experience.

Hi potential entrants and crews, have you any suggestions for MJH please?

I have a Spitfire with a soon to be installed rebuilt 1500 engine and gearbox, I use my car all the time and cover about 3000 miles a year, been to LeMans and Laon in her a few times, LeMans again next year and plans for Laon and the Swiss and Italian passes in 2026. As you can see driving distances is not an issue for me and I enjoy the challenge of long distance driving. I'm based in the Midlands, sadly I'm always a solo driver. On a different note I'm a fit pensioner who has cycled LeJog, C2C and many overnight 12 hour cycling events.

On a slightly different note, the West Midlands area have a meeting on the last Monday each month at Farmer Johns, from 6.30 onwards. You’re welcome to pop along you’ll be made most welcome and possibly one of the group might be a co driver if you wish
