Overdrive loom

Single rail box with a j type overdrive
Can someone please post a simple wiring diagram of
how to wire one up from scratch
A simply line drawing will do ,I have looked at a manual but I can't make it out
Is it just a live feed from the ignition via the gearknob to the things on the gearbox !
Or does the switch do the earth

Assuming no reverse light circuits (safe assumption methinks)
Find an ignition controlled live. take that to a fuse (8A should be OK from memory)
to the inhibitor switch (round switch on top of gearbox)
to gearstick switch (watch out, the cables up the gearstick seem to suffer, try to route them so they dont get too stressed at the bottom of the stick)
to solenoid
to earth (probably already there)

there is a loom already there  :B(i forgot) but its not in the best of conditions ,so i will re-do it all tomorrow
there is a reversing light thingy on the gearbox but i will leave them out for now
