Operating the flash must be putting a short across the 12v via the fuse thus taking the fuse out. I reckon you might have a short in the wiring to the flasher. Can you check continuity of both wires going to the flasher switch? Disconnect battery and check impedance/resistance to earth. You should be switching 12v through the lights (via a relay?) but if there is a short on the switched out of flasher switch then you would take the fuse every time. The lights will operate as per normal until you try to use the flasher switch.

I hope I have explained that reasonably well. I understand what I have written it just doesn't follow that anyone else does!!  :-/

put main beams on today testing, the fuse didnt blow but the god damn wiring to a front main beam unit set its ass on fire! So rewired everything with 30amp cable. On dipped beam, everything is fine, press the stalk switch, the 6RA kicks in, but wont kick out and the wiring gets warm. The foot switch also sends everything screwy and warm. Damn cars pissin me right off!
