THe Maestro Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Hi, I was just wondering how to go about removing the fuse box to do some remedial work on it? There doesn't appear to be any screws on the bulkhead side but I noticed two screws in the left hand 'glove box' which look roughly to be behind the fusebox. Please don't tell me I have to remove the dash board :'(
neilnaz Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Maestro I am pretty sure the screws you have seen are the ones that attach the glovebox to a frame and keep it in place. the Fusebox unless it has been altered at some point should unclip from its hole in the bulkhead. I remember this when I found that mine would not clip in place due to a broken plastic flange and I used 4 little self-tappers to anchor the fusebox in place.I hope that helps,Neil

I didn't pull it very hard when I tried earlier because I wasn't sure if it was meant to come out that way.
GreenV8Machine Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Taking out the glovebox is a 2/3 screw + 2 small bolt piece of piss to take out. It will give you a better idea how to remove it (with the battery off the car I advise, could have burnt my GT6 down due to the prat befores amazing fuse box rewiring job). It may have been glued, taped or bondasealered in by some jeb-end.
GreenV8Machine Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Checked today, original setup there are 4 wedge shape bits moulded into the plastic. So just take out the glovebox, pinch the 2 pairs together and it should pop out!
