bennygoodman Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Hello all, I'm still trying to work out the electrics on my car a !972 MK3 GT6, in the fuse box in the battery tray there are 3 fuses, top middle and bottom, both the top and bottom have power on both terminals so all is ok on those, but the centre fuse has no power whatsoever on either terminal.Does anyone know what the centre fuse is for and where it gets its power from?I do have a red live wire inside the car that is attached to the bottom fuse but it isn't attached to anything, it is just dangling down with no spade connector or anything on it!There is also no power to the interior lights, not that there are any attached its just that the wires for the door switches are also dangling down loose.Any help on this centre fuse will be appreciated. JensH Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 From memory (later spitfire) middle one should be powered from the headlamp switch with a red wire (and might be with green tracer), supplying all side markers and numberplate lamps (red wire).Have no gt6 wiring diagram here, must be more or less equal to later spitfire.Take a look here: http://www.triumphspitfire.com/wiring.htmlbeware not all are correct. bennygoodman Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 What I can't understand is why there is no live at the fuse, once the ignition is on the fusebox should be live surely, anyone else got any ideas? Quote
yorkshire_spam Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Not sure about yours, but on my Spit, the lights are fused AFTER the switch.Big fat brown ALWAYS live feed to switch, then from the switch to the fuse, then out to the side/tail lights. Quote
bennygoodman Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 I'll try that tomorrow then, switch lights on and try the fuse for power. Quote
MadMitch82 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Any help? Middle fuse is indeed fed from the headlamp switch Quote
bennygoodman Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Thanks for the help, I now have power to the fuse. Quote
