Does anyone supply -- or has any supplier ever given any thought to supplying -- new plastic tips for the flasher and lighting column stalks on our beloved cars? Seems to me there would be a market for same....  :)

On the topic of column switches (if you'll forgive me immediately derailing your thread, Andy...)

I was looking at photos of the sectioned Herald the other day and noticed that the column switch for the lights reads (top to bottom): main beam, dipped beam, sidelights. This seems like a much, much better layout than sidelights, main beam, dipped beam as appears on my Herald. What's the logic behind the latter layout?

I think the same, and I am working on it.

Cheers,
Bill.

I have to wonder if the decal is simply on upside down, or the column has been flipped over, or maybe there was a very early production modification????

And Bill, good to see that, uh, "great minds think alike"!  8)

I'm sure it was changed before production, but someone made the decision to change this sensible layout to the one where switching from sidelights to dipped means passing through main beam.

Y128 had the same white bordered decals, however only the one for the indicators survives. The switchgear was dismantled before I ever bought the car, I will have to see if I can identify the original switch to see how it's wired.

Dave Pearson has G11, it would be interesting to see if it's switchgear is marked similarly,

Cheers,
Bill.
