Sideways Tim Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Could any overdrive experts please tell me if the bridge pieces are set to a particular position, or just bolted down until they bottom out? Quote
RedRooster Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 As a tip to get it mated back to the gearbox easier put a chamfer on the centre bronze bit, it helps the shaft go in, took me 2 hrs yesterday to get the box & OD bolted back together. Quote

It went on all but the last inch or so and I am pretty sure it was because the splines were not lining up. Quote
Sideways Tim Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Well it went back together quite smoothly. The fact that it's out on the bench has to help though! Quote
RedRooster Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Glad it worked out for you, took me a while to figure it out with the spare gearbox shaft &some engineers blue, went together first time with the chamfer.RR Quote
Pete Lewis Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 another quick way to get all aligned is use two decent screwdrivers and prise the bridge to open just a little this free's the cone and allows easy alignment.dont forget the pump cam woodruff keyway. and turn the cam to its lowest point to help the pump roller to ride up.if its ever sluggish check the small hole through the valve needle is all clear .Pete Quote
