GT6 overdrive

I have a 67 gt6 with overdrive. When i select overdrive in 3rd, it flicks intermittently between both states and doesn't hold.  It works fine in 4th gear with no problems. Incidentally when the engine is cold it holds pretty well in 3rd gear. Anyone got any ideas what's up.

I suspect the inhibitor switch is Mia-adjusted. Heat is expanding something out of spec.

Mine did just that. It turned out that the cable to the switch was worn and shorting out on the stick only when hot in 3rd.....

It was indeed the inhibitor switch. Thanks for the tip. I now a little bit more of how my car works.
