Stu 1986 Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 Hello ChapsLast week I posted about the Solenoid, and mentioned I would test it when I got all the wiring connected. Today I have been happily working away making a new O/D loom and getting ready for the test. Now last year I posted about the O/D relay and have been searching for it for ages. I used google in the end and it linked me back to the forum where I was told the thread no longer existed. On the original thread, someone told me how to wire the O/D through a modern relay which I have got. Could someone please post it again if they know how? Thanks. Stu. Quote
Stu 1986 Posted March 4, 2013 Author Posted March 4, 2013 Anyone got any ideas on this? Someone posted the answer I seek before, but like I said it seems to have been erased. Just thought I'd give this a little bump back to page one. Sorry for the cheek of it! :B Quote
mazfg Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 There's not much to electromechanical relays. You have the coil, which is energised when you engage OD, and then the contacts that switch the higher current to the solenoid. What does your relay look like/ pin outs?Just transpose this to your new relayW1 and W2 are the coil for the relay, and energises when the stalk switch (2) is switched and the gear switch (6) is in the right position (ie: 3rd or 4th gear)C1 and C2 are the higher current contacts, that then switch the current required to operate the solenoid(4) on the OD. Hope this helps Quote
HMaze Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 W1 = 85W2 = 86C1 = 30C2 = 87normally open relais!Cheers,Harry Quote
bob dunn Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 The above is from the Irish club that I am in. Quote
