Davemate Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 silly question i do not have the original loom how are the wires attached the the overdrive switch are they soldered on or should there be some form of spade end,and do the wires go in the top or bottomhope i am making senceDave
Richard B Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 They go in the top.Small 5amp Lucar connectors can be made to fit. Alternatively a friend made me some out of brass tubing with a slot cut in them. The wires were soldered to the ends. They were a snug fit in the hole. You might find someone who can supply a replacement O/D loom.
Clive Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 I think chopped spade connectors can work, maybe those small red bullet connectors slightly opened up (from memory). I did have a few that were perfect, but all gone and I have no idea where they came from :)
Deleted User Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 if you can find some small car speaker connectors they will fit

Nick Jones Posted November 3, 2010 Posted November 3, 2010 Alternatively, for a modest fee Mr Rarebits can supply you with the "gearlever loom" with the correct connectors and special skinny, high temperature wire. Good investment IMO.Nick
