Don Cook
Why hasn't the announcement, made on facebook, been put on here, particularly as it also suggests changes to the 10CR2021?
RobPearce
What announcement? What changes? All I saw was "your committee have met and discussed things but no conclusions reached" Granted it could have been posted somewhere on the forum, too, to show that the club still believe in the forum, but that's not an RBRR matter. Don Cook
An announcement was posted on facebook on the 7th June. Does seem to me like a 'club within a club'. I'd post it here but 'paste' won't let me????
yorkshire_spam
I'm not a club member at the moment. I was considering re-joining and putting an entry in for the 2021 10CR, but I'm not on the Club Facebook groups... so I'm intrigued.... but in the dark. Steve AKA vitessesteve
Here is a copy of the post. 7 June 2020 Shared with Public Round Britain update Hi all , for info, the full Committee met on the 1st of June via a Zoom link and discussed the current calendar ( or rather the lack of one). The RBRR team were all with us . As far as this years event is concerned we are awaiting the latest government and Motorsports UK advice before making any further decisions . Many people would like it to go ahead and are preparing their steeds in the hope that it can . It will all be down to what the advice on social distancing is and whether things are back to normal ( whatever that is).Tim and his team are looking at all eventualities . Look out for further updates and we will meet again in early August. Our new President has been through his archives and reliably informs us that CT as we know it is 60 years old next year and that calls for some celebration at least . We all agreed that should the RBRR have to be postponed then it will be run at its usual October slot in 2021 to allow for a full calendar including the C2C in April . Next years dinner will celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Club and the 10CR will be put back so that the calendar does not get overcrowded this will also assist with planning because of current uncertainties over Brexit and the fact that Rolduc is currently in administration. The organisers have no doubt that Rolduc will be back with new owners but may be closed for a period to update its rather archaic toilet facilities ( rooms with en suites maybe ? So no more naked drunken men staggering to the showers). If the RBRR goes ahead this year then plans may have to change . It has been suggested that a condensed European event may take the September slot but as yet no plans have been made. Please everybody stay healthy and let’s hope that we can all see each other soon and fully enjoy our cars and each other’s company again . The NEC Classic Car Show is currently still scheduled for the end of November . Thank you Darren
Ellis
Sorry all, I hadn't realised it wasn't on the forum... although that said, a message was sent to all RBRR entrants via email, so those involved should have seen the message from Tim B (and if not, they need to contact the organisers as their email address cannot be recorded correctly). No decisions have been made at present, nor are they likely to be until August... but if the RBRR is deferred, it will move a year rather than to April as was being suggested at one point. This will in turn mean the 10CR being deferred as well... but as I said no decisions, so nothing further to report. When we have some further facts we'll post an update... Apols for any confusion.
