Dave1360
Quick question. Team 127's car and its owner are in Sussex and I'm in Gloucester. For some reason he doesn't want to pop over and pick me up on his way to Knebworth. So if I drive myself to Knebworth, am I able to dump the car there until Monday morning without it getting clamped, towed away or set alight?Failing that, is there anybody driving over from this general direction who could give me a lift? Of course, if parking is available, I'd be happy to take somebody over if it helps. Thanks,Dave
mole42
I'm going over on Friday from Bristol with a spare seat if that helps.Richard
TedTaylor
Purely out of interest Dave where in Gloucester are you? The Vurest of Dean Vlyers are in ......... the Vurest of Dean and the Wyedean Group Sorry can't help with a lift because we are travelling up on the Thursday and staying overnight with our third driver.MUT
Dave1360
Thanks Richard, I may take you up on that offer. I'll let you know.Ted - I'm on the south side of the city itself, about 45 minutes from the Wye Dean meets if Google maps is correct. I've wanted to go along to one of the meets, but it always seems that I've had something else going on the same evening. One of these days I'll actually turn up though. I know Gloucester very well - used to teach in Stonehouse and was born in Churchdown when I lived for about 20 years and qualified for teaching in Cheltenham. We are only a small group but let's have a chat at the driver's briefing - Gordon my co-driver is the organiser.MUT
brianthesnail96
Offer of a lift here too- we're in Cam/ Dursley Heading up Friday morning (probably- definitely Friday anyway, there's a slight chance that one of us will have to go into work in the morning) and coming back Monday, staying at the Novotel Sunday night IIRC (the one nearest to the finish anyway. I didn't book that bit!).
Dave1360
Thanks Matt, Dursley is certainly easier for me to get to than Bristol. Friday morning is good and I can get a floor for Sunday night although I can't remember where off hand. Can you put me down as a probable definite and I'll get back to you nearer the time to confirm. Cheers, Dave
brianthesnail96
No worries, we're a team of 3 but will be plenty of room in the Dolly. One of our team is in Stonehouse (and the rest of us work there) so it'll be no bother to go a bit further up to get you! Keep us posted! mpbarrett
Stone house. Schlumberger has an engineering centre there. Visited it lots of time when I worked for SLB.Difficult times in the oil services industry now.Mike
brianthesnail96
We work pretty much next door to Schlumberger! Except for the guy who actually lives in Stonehouse. He works in Bristol...Someone who worked in Schlumberger had a fleet of Triumphs, there was often one in the car park.
Dave1360
It may well have been a friend of mine who now has a Stag and used to have a Dolly Sprint, although he left Schlumberger about a year or so back.
brianthesnail96
Blue Sprint, red TR? (4a from memory), and a GT6 were ones that I saw- each more than once, but never more than one at a time so presumably the same owner!
Dave1360
Definitely a blue Sprint but the others don't ring any bells with me.

sparky_spit
Quoted from Dannyb No one has actually answered the question, Can cars be left at Knebworth ? It's great isn't it? Probably best to start a new thread called "Funny Cats - LOL!!!" or similar and you might get lucky with an answer about parking at Knebworth? Hogie
When at Knebworth if you put the cat into a box and closed the lid and then turned your back would knebworth still be there.Roger
sparky_spit
Maybe the cat is the only thing alive and we are all just a figment of its imagination? Including a Herald 1360 locked in the grounds of Knebworth all weekend.
Tim Bancroft
Parking at Knebworth:I need to do a straw poll at the DM, I have asked for permission to leave some cars in the Barn car park. Best thing, ask me during the meeting. If you have a question about the RBRR, text, call or email me. More than happy to answer questions, its my job.
