Marinaman
Please, I would like to replace the shock absorbers on my Triumph 1300 TC. What reference could I use for them? Front: GSA366 or GDA4012? Rear: GSA281? Front is the same as on a Spitfire? Thank you!
PeteStupps
Hello, no they're not the same as the Spitfire. The parts catalogue lists the following for the front damper: GSA268 - normal fitment 215605 - Heavy duty, fitted up to commission number RD99540 216975 - Heavy duty fitted from commission no RD99541. Rear you've got the correct number for normal fitting. Rimmers have Gaz dampers listed under GSA268 but you might find alternatives from other sources. Marinaman
Very good! I ll see if I can find some. Thank you Sir.
Marinaman
No, can't find a pair of GSA268. Do you think the front strut, damper plus spring, of a 1500 FWD can be used? Is it very different? I suppose, the 1500 FWD uses top ball joints GSJ132 as well? Thanks again.
thescrapman
Mick Dolphin listsGSA268 at the £8 whether he has 2 is another question, but got to be worth a call
Marinaman
Thank you Scrapman, Yes they are on the list. But out of stock. I contacted him. There are, however, these 1500 fwd front spring/damper units on the same list. And I was wondering if that would work on my 1300 TC.
That Man
Walt. 1300fwd dampers are unique to the model, 1500fwd/TC as well as Toledo and Dolomite dampers are too long. But the correct ones are available for the 1300fwd.They are Made by GAZ and sold by Rimmer Bros. I bought some last year for my 1300TC.
