Best brake pads 1500 spitfire?

Hi all,

I've just replaced the calipers and pads on my 1500 spitfire and not exactly impressed with the performance. All bled well no air in system, pedal feels good. Pads were generic in plain box with new calipers, so thinking not the best. Can anyone recommend a good pad for standard driving and where to purchase? Thanks

Yes you have type 14 calipers as also fitted to later Heralds, Dolomites and others...

Mintex 1144, work very much like the old asbestos pads in terms of performance (a good thing)

Beware, dolomite and spitfire pads, (and calipers) are not interchangeable

ooops sorry thought the type 14 was used on all. Out of interest what do the Dolomites have?

Now flooding on rear carb bowl so will add to the jobs list!

Type 14, but they are different! Larger pad, (but discs are smaller) and the hose comes out of the back of the calier, rather than the top.
