Cylinder head torque

Is it likely that the tightening torque for the ivor searle 1500 head I have will require different settings than the standard 1500?

i suspect only if you are using a different/upgraded gasket,but ultimately the torque is dictated by the head stud/nut type you use.

ARP ones can be tightened to a higher setting.

i always use oil on the threads as it gives a greater clamp load for a given torque by reducing friction between the threads.
