plk21e
hi are there any benefits in replacing standard mk3 head with one from a mk4 with double valve springs or can the mk3 head be converted to double valve springs
Clive
No advantage in double valve springs (until silly rpm) Now, the early mkIV head has larger valves and the same CR as teh mk3 (if my memory isn't playing tricks) so that is worth having. And the double valve springs can be fitted if you really wanted, but there are some genuine jag springs that work well and cost about 10p each (genuine jag too, no repro stuff)

sparky_spit
And it's the best £1.92 you will ever spend on your car. I splashed out £5.76, which should last me to my grave (if they don't go rusty before I do).

James
Yes they can be used on 6 cyl engines too.I bought 35 of them earlier — I wonder if they are wondering why people are ordering odd numbers of them :)
plk21e
i have ordered mine but had to get 10, the postage was more than the springs but still worth it
thescrapman
I was going to say, get some mates together and buy in bulk as teh postage is way more than the springs otherwise.I purchased 40 a few months ago, enough for 3 6-pots and a couple to go sproing across the workshop.CheersColin
