thehanko
So as I near the end of my build I'm starting to consider clearing out spares I don't need. Things like repeats of trim or repair panels which I sure as hell hope won't be needed for a decade! Most are easy to identify but this one has me stumped!I've been through loads of catalogs and have drawn a blank. So who can work it out first? LouisW
Looks like some sort of bulkhead repair panel, don't know though
BrendanD
Its not a repair panel.Passenger footwell rest, goes inside the footwell and unique to the GT6.

thehanko
Nice work boys.I kept looking at it and thinking its got to be a kick panel but doesn't match!Guess I won't be selling that one after all lol. I'm pretty sure I haven't fitted it.
Rubce
Passeneger footwell foot rest. NOt sure I am going to bother refitting ours.Bruce
rotoflex
Yes, you will, because the passengers mash with all their might on imaginary brakes down there. It also covers where the battery box drain goes down.
heraldcoupe
I was told that the currently available moulded carpet sets don't take account of this panel. Any truth in this?Cheers,Bill.
thehanko
I can confirm that they don't. I had my carpets out to wire up the od. So stuck my head in and thought... "I'm not sure if I want to put it back in there. "It doesn't seem to serve any purpose. So I put the carpet back in and low and behold the moulded carpets specifically fit to the contour of the bulkhead not where the plate would be. Paudman
... so you attach the plate OVER the carpet... protects both metal and carpet... simples!
rotoflex
Did the Spitfires not have the kickplate? If not, it would seem to indicate that they're using the same pattern for Spitfire & GT6 floors.

Anthony
Boooooo!I want a carpet that takes that panel into considerationGuess I'm a pretty small market though :(
thehanko
I don't think it would be bad with the panel fitted, i can stick mine in temporarily and check it if you like.
rotoflex
You could carpet it without the kick panel, then fasten one of those vibrating massage pillows down there instead. A little something for the passenger.SLOW DOWN YOU'RE GOING TOO FAST SLOW DOWN DAMN YOU ohhhh god this feels greeeaaaattt urrgg blurrrgggYou probably won't need to get one with the heating option.
