Tinweevil
Oooh, bad luck Richard. Glad you are OK.Bad news:Front panels are not easily available. A reasonable number still float about changing hands every so often. They fetch a pretty penny.Good news:Brand new complete fibreglass panels are available from the Triumph Dolomite Club. These are not nasty wobbly affairs like the wings doing the rounds a few years ago but well crafted solid items.
PurpleBargeKen
I've seen one of the GRP front panels in the flesh and can confirm the quality. These should help to keep a few more cars on the road. Well worth it in my opinion. The only reason I didn't buy one was that the top end of the panel on my SE was sound. Just the lower valance was goosed.Ken
dolomiteman
The last metal front panel on ebay went the wrong side of £350! The GRP ones have been made from a good condition OE NOS BL panel and are an exceptional fit, not to mention 1kg lighter. I understand there will be a bloke at Stoneliegh on 08 March on stand 199 with a few...or you might prise one off him prior! They are £130, postage would be on top, but the same bloke is traveling to West London this coming weekend...
Richard B
Sourced a spare shell from Derek thanks (local CT guy). I have now cut the nose off of it and it's awaiting the scrappie, except that Derek ha now discovered he also wants a piece of metal.......I must admit i'm surprised at the problems Dolomite owners are having with parts going obsolete. dolomiteman
Scrappie? Is it that far gone? Is there nothing of use/value on it?Obsolescence is something we are slowly dealing with successfully...its all down to numbers left and viability
