GT6boy Posted April 14, 2010 Posted April 14, 2010 Nearly there boys- come on: its a great day out! :)
Chriss Posted April 14, 2010 Author Posted April 14, 2010 Thanks Guys, that is looking better. We have until the week end to make up our mind if we will allow other marques into our session. Booking will open on the MGoT site Next Week. It will be first come first served This is the last call for anyone who is up for it to get their name down to prevent other marques joining us. We need 12 in reality and some reserves would help. Booking will start next week. Please monitor This and the MGoT websites. Thanks very much.Chris

Ridgetone Triumph Posted April 15, 2010 Posted April 15, 2010 Need a big wheel for Castle Coombe, I understand you use top gear all the way around ;D
Tim Guy Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Hi TrackstersJust to clear up the multiple entries on the website provisional booking list that you experienced at Silverstonetimbancroft61 wrote:..Most of the names on the Reserve List are duplicate bookings. Chris will be talking to MGoT in the next couple of days to clear this problem up....This happens on our website if you have made a provisional booking. When you come back to confirm and pay, there are two 'Book & Pay' buttons available. One is alongside the "I'm Interested button" and the other is against your name in the provisional booking list at the bottom of the page.If you use the first button it will create a new booking, leaving your provisional booking in place. The second button, against your name, will convert your provisional booking into a confirmed and paid status. Sorry, I know it's not very good.
Chriss Posted April 17, 2010 Author Posted April 17, 2010 Thanks for the explanation Tim.Do you know when the updated website will be available?

I would hope to get it in place within a couple of months - but we said that in January too :( We also have to pick a time when there's not too many pending bookings.GT6boy wrote: Booked in and paid(for instruction too- money well spent)! :) ...Indeed instruction is the cheapest go faster mod that anyone can make to their car.
Chriss Posted April 23, 2010 Author Posted April 23, 2010 Thanks for the update Tim.Tim is making a good point about instruction here. In terms of improved lap time /£ spent driving better & faster is the cheapest way of improving. As a group CT Tracksters are reasonably experienced but that means we can get into habits that we don't realise impede our progress. I thought I was going pretty well but last time I had instruction I was told I breaked too late and got on the accelerator too early. Well I thought, isn't that what you are supposed to do! Interestingly enough that was causing weight transfer to the front wheels to be too rapid going into a corner and the same to the rear and off side comming out. That meant I was sliding at a lower speed than if I had taken it more progressively and so loosing time. So I now try to be smoother on the brakes and power and it works, especially in the wet as I carry more speed into a corner and the car is more balanced.Give it a try!
James Posted April 25, 2010 Posted April 25, 2010 I am all paid up!So who else is in? - I can only see Keith, Bruce and Steve on the list... pesky GT6!
