;D

It's too upright - I need to chop off the top edge of the rear part of the mount (near the lap belt hole) and then use the hole below to recline it. (it looks worse than it actually is as the passenger seat is very reclined)

Fuel pump also in and seems to be making a huge difference - will properly road test it this evening.

Got to take the engine and box out tomorrow to change the clutch, and fit the new CR gearbox.  While the engine is out I will fit the new cam and change the split engine mounting. also got to get two new tyres as one now has a puncture in the edge and the other a small bulge in the side wall, all very anouying as they have 7mm of tread on them and yokohama have stopped making them.

oh, whats up with that then?  best of luck getting it sorted anyways! :)

Nothing so long as you don't want any performance! The DPO has fitted a completely standard engine from a Mk2 Saloon, well standard apart from the flat top pistons - measured the head and its not been skimmed so the the CR is about 7.5(ish) - maybe he was thinking of running it on parafin :K) :K)

Anyway its getting a new 2 ltr engine and 3 rail gearbox with J type OD but not before the 14th - so I'll be doing the TD in the TR

There's a lot of fettlin' going on here and it sounded like there may be one or two that won't be able to make it.  If you really don't think you can make it please can you stick your name below and we'll see if we can recycle your ticket.

Alway the same, these jobs get left untill the last miniute. The clutch has been weak since the last autosole. Its won't take long to get the engine out.   Only problem is work has got in the way so it won't get done till wednesday know.  But I will be there.

If any of you do have to find a reserve car then I am sure we can accomotate it   :-/

just as long as it is not a Veyron.

Can I bring the Passat if my Triumph fails?

James, as long as you can get a slant 4 engine in it.  Turbo is optional.

The Passat is my Dad's and he suggested it

12 years old, 163k and I can drive it blind folded - I've always wanted to track day it.

BUT... the Triumph is top priority, especially now it has posh seat and belts...

Hi James, everyone has made a big effort to get their cars ready, but if they are not ready better to come in a non Triumph than not at all.  Anyone comming in something else, please let us know on the Forum.

By the way James, Tim suggests that every car you drive is as if you are blindfolded   ??)

Cheers, Chris

The engine is out, just as well as the clutch was almost on the rivets and the engine mounting rubber had completely detached. Also most alarming was the prop to gearbox flange bolts were all loose (less than 10lb of torque), going back in the garage know to swop the cam over and put the overdrive onto the CR gearbox.  ready for it all to go back in tomorrow.

Swapped around the seat mounts today - how silly of me to put them in backwards.

Rather more comfortable now!

Changed oil and filter tonight

I'm using VALVOLINE VR1 for the first time on recommendation from my engine builder.  We shall see how good it is 8)
