Bald Restorer
Has anyone tried the iron on type, real wood veneers for doing dashboards and were they a success. Thanks Paul
Martins Stag
Paul I have looked at them on ebay but at a quarter of the price of a proper refurbish dash I m assuming they won't be as good, so I have resisted so far.. " you pays for what you get " but I would be pleased to be proved wrong.... Martin
Dratno
I had a go at re-veneering my 13/60 dash (glued on, not ironed) and spent a great deal of time of removing old, sanding, glueing, carefully forming the instrument holes, staining and ‘varnishing’ - to cut a long story short: it slightly rippled but enough to spoil the effect. In the end I had it re-done by a professional boat builder who make luxury timber speed boats. Cost a few hundred pounds but excellent job, you do get what you pay for!
