I'm having it too since a couple of days. Dunno why, it just happened to me... I wasn't really bothered before but now it's the next big event on the calendar and really looking forward to it.

Can't wait to get started at the Plough. (hope we make it that far) I was watching the 2004 photos yesterday and I already could feel the great atmosphere!

I know what you mean Tim.  It just happens.

One day you're all cool about it, the next your like a child who can't wait to go on holiday or something!

I'm really starting to get excited now.  This for me is my first proper drive in my car, and first 'mad' event.  I'm on the edge of my seat now, as is my co-driver, who has never done anything this 'mad' before either and is getting even more excited about it than me.

The Dambusters theme came on at work this afternoon and I immediately thought of the RBRR.  Hmmm, I'm getting worried about myself... :P

Greeks,  Bet your gutted eh! See you next year for the 10CR - we'd better!
Hmmm ... i'm pretending that it isn't happening:
I definitely would like to be on the 3rd 10CR ... if there's a couple of seats going in a suitable car ... and I can get the sort of time off work that's needed to do it!

I'm getting the fever big time, although I'd like it to be a few more weeks away than it actually is. I'm getting escited by the double whammy of doing the RBRR, AND getting my fully restored Spitfire back... Check out the blog!

I spoke to Andy, my co-driver, a couple of days ago, and he's getting pretty hyped up about it too...
My wee kid only counts as a 1/4 actually... doesn't even get a seat... hope she complains enough so I get my own back on the screaming kids I've endured on long-haul flights in the past  ;D ;D ;D
You need to pinch the kid to get it screaming at check in :-) Being a seasoned flyer (with kids) and having recently done a US trip in packed cattle class I really hope you can get some leg room - I now have the bitter sweet pleasure of my kids being old enough for their own seats, however 3 adult tickets and one "child" (90% of an adult) is wallet painful!

I bought my tickets a while back so the wallet pain is over.  Not looking forward to the airport check in and the customs thing.  :-/  The club needs someone in customs to let us go through quick!  ::) Andy: What day are you arriving? Airline? Comming through Dulles? I will leave Dulles monday on British Airways flight BA0902 arriving Heathrow tuesday morning at 10:10 AM.  I also know with my luck  >:( will have a screaming rug-rat next to me that needs its diper (nappy) changed and one or two behind and in frount that will fight and throw up as that seems to be the norm, even in 1st class!!!!   :'(  Maby we can't smoke but at least the beer is non-stop and free  :D

Hi alL This my "first big time out" with the car. I will nearly be doing as many miles ( hopefully ) in two days a s I have done in the last 15 months.!!!!!. Hope the car stays intact. Yes it is very contagious ( ??? ). My co - driver is also gearing himself up.. This is from two OAP`s,, so not only for the younger ones... It`s coming far too quickly, but then again.... Malc.

The "Fever" for me started sometime about 2 weeks ago. The car is finally in a condition where I am looking for things to fix which really don't need to be touched.  Searching for squeaks and rattles which after the first 100 miles in the car will no longer be heard and are usually of little concern.

I actually had a bit of a panic attack today when I realized that I have to ship the car next week and there are so many things conspiring against me.  First, the ship is scheduled to be 2 days late due storms in the Pacific. Hurricane Ernesto is currently between the ship and its next port.  Finally the tight timing schedule when the car arrives in Southampton leaves very little "wiggle room" once it does arrive in the UK.

All in all, I think I will survive, I have been through this before. I can get daily progress on the ETA in Southampton.  I will know that my car is in the UK before we board the plane.
