Jason
Tim has all the old road books - I think one of the earliest ones may be missing but certainly the early noughties are there. What did you lose en route??
mikeyb
I may be wrong, but i don't think we wentr anywhere near Oswestry in 2000, reckon we went M6 - M5 between Lancaster & Gordano?the Welsh sorties came along a few years later (2006?) JimmyE
Thanks for the replies. Background is I am doing a little blog/thing on my best-ever drives and this was one of them: it was an amazing route down along deserted (apart from lots of Triumphs) Welsh border roads in the dead of night.I have thought about it and it was definitely 2000. Anyone remember what the specific roads were?

mikeyb
hells bells you are right Colin, I've lost 10 years - was thinking of 1990 :-/don't think we did Wales then?We would have loved to have been "bombing along" Derek, but my murky recolloction was that of a somewhat slow and rather tired, overworked 1300TC that was pulling 3000rpm at 50mph in top gear, was almost burning more oil than petrol and suffering from terrible fuel vaporisation due to the glowing red exhaust manifold!Hope you are wellRegardsMike
