I hope to come to th reunion, is it still the 7 March? Not a day passes when I don't take a minute or two and think back to the trip.Next time: over the top at Gap, dive in the Med, pre book hotel (well pre book everthing really!), even more beer on Sat night, working wipers, overdrive, rebuilt gearbox...See you all soon.Don
Greeks
And not a day goes by when we don't think of you, Don. Losing your specs, eating Pizza on the beach, all alone ... and letting Dean drive your car!!!
v8dean
hey watch it >:(i never had that car over 3500revs, overtook nothing and never wheelspun it :)most untypical come to think about it......... ;D
Tim Bancroft
V8Dean,You were probably intimidated by the power and smoothness of a six cylinder engine after driving a smogged up V8. Come on get on the programme and buy a six cylinder Triumph!
Raider
Yeah, yeah, GT6, 6 cylinder, great engine, great noise blah blah blah! ::) ::)Notice you haven't taken me up on my offer to drive my TR7 on the RBRR tho - afraid of unleashing the awsome power and then being dissappointed with your GT6 tim? ;D ;DBTW - did you hear the grenade being lobbed in. ??) ??)I am ducking for cover as I type. :o :o
v8dean
i was actually well impressed with the torque and handling and would've liked to push it harder through the hilly bendy bits, it was probably a good thing that i had a calm and serious companion to keep an eye on me...... Jason
Craig and I will be at the TSSC AGM on Sunday so will come and say hello - we'll try and make lunch but may not - what time are you guys gonna be there from-to ? We may even kick Dave Pearson and get him to come along.
Greeks
get there for 12 ... leave about 4 or 5 judging by last time. 'Twill be good to see you all.
Jason
Nice one - thanks, we will be late but will be there. TSSC is in Lubbenham but doesn't finish until 12 - having said that it's less than 10 miles away :-)
Greeks
We'll probably be hiding out the back. Did you get any video footage amongst your other fancy gadgets? If so Mr Raider might well have his video and wooden Mitsubishi in the back of his 'not Triumph' so we can watch it!
Jason
I thin Dave may have a bit of Video on his camera - I haven't seen it yet! I've seen the Ten Countries TV and leant it to a mate who's going to put it on a CD for me - he's had it 8 weeks so far :-)
v8dean
Seeing that you're all going, i suppose that i could attempt a "suprise" visit. The "suprise" will be when my wife reads the note i leave for her early on sunday morning, saying that i wont be able to make her mothers birthday party :'(Please note i'll be arriving in a non-Triumph :-/
Jason
Don't feel bad, I'll be in a non-Triumph - it's about as non-Triumph as you can get, Japanese and diesel but it's only 2 days old so I'm still figuring out what all the buttons do! Yes it's another Toyota Avensis - the car Top Gear described as "hateful" but you know, I kinda like it for a souless piece of company metal

Deleted User
Done all the jobs on the GT6 ready for sunday, wheel cylinders ,brake shoes ,rear radius arm body mount, even got the hanbrake to work properly after five years. Also fixed pipe on inlet manifold.Took it up the road for a test drive ,runs like a pig,. LOoked at the timing ,which was way out ,re-adjusted,reved the engine, timing out again.Bearing in mind that the car was running fine before. Could it be something to do with a poor seal between carbs and manifold ,where i disconected them to work on manfold?
Raider
GT6 reliability? ??) ??)Sure it's not a TR7? :PI can't see how a seal between carbs and manifold can affect timing. :-/Is the distributor clamped in place properly or is it slippng? ??) Deleted User
Checked that ,its ok.I just thought it might be something to do with the manifold as this is the only thing that iv'e fiddled with.
Deleted User
Think iv'e sorted it now ,spoke very gently and threatened to trade it in for a tr7,also the big blue sparks coming from the coil might be a give away
Caroline
Sorry about the no show chaps; Team Rupert were asleep all weekend and feeling a little off-colour. Hope it all went well. How many Triumphs did turn up theN?CAroline, Barry & James
