HenryC
Im 18, and finally saved up enough money to purchase a Triumph Herald (My Dream Car), I have very little mechanical experience and I really hope this will kickstart my Mechanical knowledge so in the future I can do work on the car and hopefully more classic cars in the future. The car starts every time and has not rattle whatsoever although I now think it has an issue. Until I have sorted out insurance I have only been driving the car up and down a private road. The clutch has suddenly become really stiff although gear change is still possible. Also whilst coming to a stop the engine becomes much louder when the clutch pedal is touched? Is this usual or do I have an issue? Please Help, any advice is greatly appreciated - Thanks Henry
MSter
Is there any change in engine note/tone/sound when the clutch pedal is pushed or released??

heraldcoupe
Would you say the pedal travels further now than previously?Cheers,Bill.

As mentionedalthough I am still able to change gear it is making a worrying sound increase (the engine) when the clutch is pushed in as mentioned above. thescrapman
If you grab the pulley on the end of the crank and push/pull it can you (in order of magnitude) feel / hear / see movement?
