DavidSWP
Stupid question but can I remove the solenoid without draining the gearbox/OD oil? I read a 1" spanner is needed but the nut looks bigger than that to me somehow.I'm just trying to fix the overdrive, it was perfect and then suddenly stopped working. I noticed in the recent past that when I flicked the OD switch the solenoid would visibly wobble (casing is rather loose), but now when I switch it on it doesn't move at all so it seems to me that the piston in it isn't moving although it still makes the clicking noise. Would this be a reasonable conclusion. If so what is the likely cause?Dave
DavidSWP
On closer inspection the clicking was a relay someone must have fitted. A spade terminal had just falled off the solenoid :) Haven't tried it yet but I guess it will work again now, fingers crossed.
