Sidewaysste
I've just noticed that the chassis number written on my logbook is KE2901 whereas the chassis number on my GT6 is simply KE29. Does anyone have any advice as to what I do about this?As far as I can tell, if I inform the DVLA they will just assume that I've changed the chassis number.... hypoid53
DVLA often record the suffix O (for overdrive) as a 0 (Zero) but that does not explain the 1 unless it is left hand drive and L is recorded as 1 which would make KE29 0 L KE2901...! Just a thought. :)
herald948
...except that the "O" for overdrive would be AFTER the "L" for left-hand steering if so equipped.
byakk0
I've got a similar issue with mine. Title says CK1293LO, but it should be KC....
GT6 1
Mine also has an extra digit, was wondering what to do? Will it cost me money to change :-/
Sidewaysste
Ah so that's why there's a random O an inch away from the rest of the chassis number? I assumed the guy who stamped the vin plates was drunk....She's definately right hand drive. I find it interesting that a chassis number can be only 2 numbers and 2 letters...My worry is not the cost of changing but the worry that it would appear that I had changed the chassis number from KE2901 to KE29 rather than the actual situation where the DVLA has made a mistake and it needs correcting. I presume that there could be a KE2901 GT6 out there somewhere? Or would a car starting KE29XX be a later model year?
Dannyb
Could you not get a heritage certificate. You can then provide that as proof the DVLA records are wrong.
