roger.england
Being relatively new to the club and web site, my apologies if this has been asked before, but I can't find anything that relates. Does the club possess any tools that it loans to members? I can see a need for some more specialised tools myself in the future, but equally I have a number of tools that may not be in the average tool kit that I would be happy to make available to other members. If there's any merit in this, I'll list what I keep tucked away in the garage that other members can make use of.Roger (Vitesse at the painters - getting frustrated because its taking so long - want something to fettle because I've run out of things to derust, buff, paint, fondle, swear about, replace, listen to, drive, enjoy........about all I can do is talk about it.......think I'm losing it!) ::) ::)
Steve AKA vitessesteve
RogerSome of the local area meetings of the club have tool hire/borrowing schemes in place. Suggest you have a chat with them.

Tim Bancroft
To be honest Roger I do not think the Club does not hold any tools that are available for hire. With a Vitesse, I think the only special tool you need are Spring Lifting Tool (Have a look at the Haynes manual to see one- these can be fabricated at local engineering establishments, and poss the churchill tool to correctly shim the rear hubs- this can be done by a specialist such as Moordales.Otherwise its good old traditional tools! roger.england
My previous "toy" was a Porsche so had come to expect special tools as a way of life! Glad to hear that I won't need many on the Vitesse. For what its worth I have a metal guillotine, a sheet metal bender (manual variety), compression tester, carb balancer, bench grinder with mops (ideal for buffing up the stainless trim), torque wrench, set of UNF / UNC taps and dies. Happy for members to use them if needed.RegardsRoger
