Beans
At least the avarage Austrian/German beer is much better than most of the filthy factory-brews we have over here in our little country 😀
Beans
Some more work on the DHC in preparation for the 10CR;Front pads looked rather passed their prime ...fitted a light weight starter motor ...diagnosed a failing viscous coupling ...and found a cracked fan ...To name a few of the highlights of a days spannering 😀
Beans
Under the banner of 10CR corrective measures ...Got word from the damage valuator last week and agreed on the fact that I will do the repairs myself or under my own supervision. So this weekend I started with dismantling various parts in preparation for the body repairs
Beans
Since early this week the car is away for paint repairs at last.Encountered first set back though, after removing the paint we had to conclude that the spoiler is scrap.Gearbox rebuilt also not going to plan, needing a few new items (main shaft, 1st and 2nd gear). These should arrive next week, so hopefully I can start putting the 'box togethjer pretty soon.Thinking of rebuilding a spare box while I am at it ... Beans
Some progress at last or should I say a few steps backwards?Car will need a full re-spray due to problems with the paint ...Not quite clear what caused it, but will use different paint now (NOT a different colour though as some people suggested )And we ditched the driver

Beans
More progress on the DHC's gearbox, machined a recess in the rear casing to fit an extra oil seal for the selector shaft ....Changed the small plug in the oil galley underneath the rear casing for a plug with a proper copper seal.Much easier to check the oil flow this way ...And measured the end float on the bearings of the mainshaft and the layshaft. Now waiting for the shims to arrive ... Beans
Picked up the DHC from the paint shop yesterday. But as it was a bit of a rush job to dodge the various rain showers there are no decent pictures yet.We just shoved her into the shed as quickly as possible ... Well worth the wait, she looks even better than before []
Beans
Slow but steady progress on the re-assambly of the DHC ...Hopefully she'll be fully re-assembled within the next few weeks.Leaving "only" the gearbox to be replaced by the one I am still rebuilding

Beans
With the DHC almost ready I was wondering if someone could enlighten me on this one ..Anyone recognise the propshaft in the top in this picture? The other two are both original TR7 prop shafts (PKC1420) but the one on top came from a late Solihull built FHC (actually

Beans
Quoted from uksnatcher Looking sweet Theo...! Thx, nearly there 🙂We polished out the few blemishes in the paint last Saturday. Sadly due to the still rather Dutch summer weather sealing the seams had to wait till it is completely dry. After which the badges will be applied. And then there
Beans
OK, back to the DHC, hopefully the gearbox will be replaced soon. But before that I will have to make a decision.During the 2011 10CR one (banded steel) wheel got damaged beyond repair, and two turned out to be leaking through the rim, which got porous over the years. So I ordered a new set, which will also get banded (+0.5") but I am toying with the idea of painting them satin black, opinions please Maybe too much boy-racer, but I actually quite like the black look
