Wiring diagram help Haynes Manual

After recently changing the dash in my TC for one out of an S, I noticed a kind of bodge for the dual circuit brake warning light. I fitted the new dash anyway and thought I would investigate the wiring for the warning system. As it stands, the brake light comes on with the ignition and goes out once the engine starts (its linked to the oil pressure warning light apparently) The light never came on with the old dash in place. The wire which is purple with a black trace, is seperate from the loom and now not connected to anything. It shows a constant 0.2 volts on the multimeter with ignition on and off. The shuttle valve under the bonnet has a 2 pin plug on it but one of the wires has been cut just down from the plug and wrapped in tape. The remaining wire is purple with a black trace...
In the Haynes manual, the wiring diagram key lists on page 205 items 50 and 51 Dual brake switch and Dual brake warning light respectively but these are missing from the diagram in my manual. I even got the wife to look at it in case I am going blind but it's just not there! The Diagram on pp220-221 for special market carb models 1976 on also lists the same but again absent from the diagram.
Can anybody help me? I want to make sure the wiring is correct and the thing works properly

Hello Miaoret,

my diagram shows the brake warning lamp fed directly from the voltmeter positive, white wire, from the lamp is white\black where it tees off, one to the brake balance switch then to earth, the other goes to the oil warning lamp. Out of the oil warning lamp is a white\brown wire to the oil pressure switch.

It seems from this diagram (2.5 P.. Mk 2 , L H steering.) that the brake balance warning and oil pressure warning lamps are in series? Possibly as a lamp check for the brake warning?

For information, white circuits are ignition fed unfused, green circuits are ignition fed fused and purple circuits are constantly live.

Alec

PS, This is from an early ST manual, I have a later one in my workshop should none of the above make sense.
