Jusm
Hi,Just wondering if anyone has seen inlet valve seats for the Stag for sale. They don’t seem to be available and I understand that’s because they don’t burn out. Mine have been overlapped since guide replacement and still not getting a good seal.CheersJustin
Richard B
Try James Paddock. What part number are you searching for as the MkI seats are softer than the MkII seats.Nowadays I think you want MkII seats anyway. If not a good machine shop should be able to source them. Bear in mind that it is not a DIY job to replace them.
Jusm
Thanks Richard. Part is 150862.I have a message in to the usual uk suspects including paddocks. It seems they are rare as exhaust burn out not inlets. In my case I have over lapped after guide replacement and they are now out of spec with not a perfect seal. Time to start again with a proper workshop!
OBE
TR7 inlet valves will give you the option of recutting the inlet head seats without having to replace them I think because they're 1mm larger diameter? Might be a way out for you if you're struggling ?
Jusm
Interesting OBE.. thanks for the tip.Was looking at Gosnays (as recommended by LDParts) but they seem an odd size not stocked. Will investigate the tr7 valves which sound like a good idea with a cut.CheersJustin
Flying Farmer
I had some inlet valve seats replaced by Bradbury engineering at Loggerheads. I did have to wait several weeks as they were special order.I have also rescued some too deeply cut valve seats using TR7 valves. They are about 3 or 4mm bigger, but I cut them down in diameter so they sat further up the seats, and were about 1.5mm larger than the Stag valves.Neil
