Calorian
Hey guys,I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for replacement front seats for the MKII. The problem I am finding is that because I am quite tall, the original seats don't offer enough back support and after long journeys my back starts to ache.I invested in a very cheap set of Stag seats in the hope that these would fit, however the rails are too far spaced to fit in replacement of the standard seats so I was wondering if anyone had changed their seats to something talller that still has that period feel. (Possibly another Triumph? GT6, TR maybe??? )Cheers

Ridgetone Triumph
I had a set of Volvo front seats in my PI from a '75 vintage, can't get a safer seat, bit of modding to the frames. Comfy and of course Volvo have always been associated with safety
Calorian
Hey,Did the Recaros fit without modification or did they require tweaking as the Volvo seats did?Cheers
Nick Jackson (2)
Mine needed some mod's before fitting but that's only because it had previously been fitted with BMW seats (that were too high and too hard). I'm pretty sure that CERTAIN MODELS of Rover's have Recaro's that are a straight swap. When I was trawling scrapyards looking for seats I was amazed at how many types there were across the Rover 600 and 800 models. Best to measure what you need carefully and see what's available out there. I think Win's now do Rovers and as well as Triumphs so they may be worth a try for seats. Nick J. dazzer
Just got a pair of 2008 BMW mini Cooper S leather sports seats off ebay £115 the pair. Front to back the mounting points are perfect. Side to side only 10mm out. Simple to modify and will look superb.Blue/dark grey leather for a MK1 with blue interior, should look good.CheersDarren
Calorian
Hey,Anyone got the measurement for the 2000 seat rail mountings and also the other part of the mounting (The frame part that mounts to the runner) or am I going to need to measure them myself?Found a couple of seat sets I quite like down my scrapper. A set from a Cavalier SRi or a set from a Volvo 460 CD.Im off on holiday tomorrow so i'm going to try and do it when I get back.
