sbarc
My car has cloth seats but this one on e-bay has vinyl seayts. did the '73's come from the factory with vinyl seats or is this an aftermarket seat cover set? Anyone know where I could get a set of vinyl covers like these with the perforated vinyl centre sections?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Triumph-GT6-MK3-MINT-CONDITION-TRIUMP-GT6-MK3-HARD-TOP-COLLECTORS-DREAM_W0QQitemZ250262836558QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item250262836558&
Desperate Damson
Mine are like that, but minus the Headrests, mine is a 1971 Mk3. Not sure if this helpsPaul ;D
sbarc
Yup....I figured these seats were from an earlier year than 73. Thanks for the confirmation.I've got the occasional rear seat but it doesn't have the cloth inserts.......so it's doubtful I will use it. My rear seat does have the perforated vinyl inserts...so this car got me wondering if vinyl perforated seats were a factory option in '73.
cook1e
The rotoflex MKIIIs had vynyl seats in a peforated pattern see:-They chnaged to cloth seats in brushed nylon corderoy type pattern when the MKIIIs went over to swing spring wat KC20000 in early 73. There were other changes at the same time like sundym tint windows, headrests and the later type intruments with white pointers on the dials.I've fitted my GT6 with later seats with headrests but covered in the earlier type seat cobers in the perforated vynil.Matches the rear seat but gives the added safety befit of headrests. It just sort of boggles the mind that folks can't figure out how the bonnet support works, and *then" when they bend it up continue to use it that way. On the other hand, sbarc, who received his that way, had no information to let him know it might have been any different until told.

When I replaced mine last year James Paddock was about the cheapest but I'd advise to shop around. My understanding is that all the suppliers use Newton Commercial as their source so the quality should be consistant which ever supplier you end up using. There are some that supply other manufacturers trim, and there are some that give you a choice between two or more types (the Newton stuff will be the most expensive). There are actually very few that sell solely Newton stuff only.

Does anyone supply the covers for the rear seat in cloth to match the original?
