stillnotfinnished
hi all just been putting the front lights back on my 1200 - sometime in the past its all been bodged together so ive stripped the bodgery away to start again. in the main loom at the front its got the wires as per the wireing diogram [ so i plan to cut these and take a feed for the left front ]and its got two brown wires[ in the loom] as well which stop at the left front one of them is a constant live. these were fitted to a conecting block with 4 more wires which used to conect to the front left lights! any ideas what these brown wires are?thanks ed
ferny
I'd assume horns. That's what they are on 13/60's.
Steve Cureton
The horn wires obviously don't go to the bonnet so where they emerge from the loom and the length of the wires should give a clue to where they should go.
stillnotfinnished
havent yet looked to see where the brown wires start but they stopped by the left front wheel areaall the wires for the lights end at right front, no junction at all for the left hand lights!all this on a car i bought with an mot! [ long time ago]flashers dont worklights on main beam all timearrrrgh........ :o
Steve Cureton
Then I would guess the brown wires are indeed the horn wires. From memory the lighting wiring should go to the centre of the bonnet where they join to more wires going left, right or both ways as necassary via two and three way bullet connectors. stillnotfinnished
hi steve picks do help ;Dso the left hand lights plug in at the right hand side and then run back across the inside of bonnet?
Steve Cureton
Not quite, the main loom runs to the centre of the bonnet, and from there wires run left and/or right accordingly. Obviously headlamp and sidelight wires will go left and right (three wires in one connector) as they have comon feeds, indicator wires will go left or right depending on which indiocator feed it is.Where are you based? I'm in Shropshire and you're welcome to come and take a look if you like.
