all mod cons
Does anyone have any advice on these? For some reason my 1200 Herald doesn't have the priming lever on its mechanical fuel pump. This means that after it has been sitting idle for a few days, it takes a lot of cranking to get the petrol up to the carbs.I wondered if an electric pump might get round this and if so where best to buy one. Thanks,
Richard B
What carbs? Are they twin SU's? If so a rebuild kit will stop the leaks and improve the economy. They tend to leak from the rubber O ring where the flexible pipe enters the jet. GreenV8Machine
Im sure one from eBay, 3psi/5psi jobby for a mini would do!Might be a problem with your carbs, or possibly a small leak in the line, or maybe a leak in the pump/split diaphragm. Deleted User
Definitely put a filter in the fuel line before the pump, i learnt the hard way :(
Oggi
You could also just fit a filter with a non return valve, might help reduce fuel draining back.
