I fail to see how you can electronically push back the three-quarter windows, pull out and fold the excess material...
For that the Herald/Vitesse would need a better designed hood...

the other half has a Saab 93 Covertible on the drive and she very rarely opens the hood so as she doesn't use it much do you think she'd miss it if I took it and bastardised it? ;)

I'm sure she will notice the lack of a roof the first time it rains! :K) :o

As most of you know most American cars have power "Top's".  I own one.  I can say with some confidance that to put one on a Herald would require a comlete re-design of the entire frame.   Also if the electric/hydro motor should fail their is no way to raise or lower the top without un bolting boath hydro cylenders!

When you've worked out how to do it I'd like one for my vitesse please  :)

You would need to redo the frame and find a way of getting the excess material out of the way. With vinyl roofs it is probably slightly easier as there is a bit less bulk. Some sort of roller mechanism that the hood is pushed into and gets pulled by from behind the seats might just do it. Folding the hood down is a bit like trying to get a roller towel back up into the machine once you've pulled out too much....
