Is this statement true.
Ford Capri discs and 2-pot callipers. This method uses the 2.8i Capri vented discs and 2 pot callipers. This solution is certainly adequate for 2.0 litre and Sprint-engined cars. It’s not unheard of for some V8 conversions to stop quite happily on this set-up.

Will these fit? My tr7

So you're looking for these ...

I had them on my "slightly-more-powerfull-then-standard" Sprint  ;D for years without a problem. As you can see after reconditioning they are now under my DHC ...

Only thing you need is two spacer between hub and (Capri) disc

Sanely driven road car will be fine on standard discs (in good condition) and Green Stuff pads.

Depends what you call sane  ;D
When I drove the DHC early this year the (OS) brakes overheated big way. Problem is pad area to small, and discs to thin. And you know my opinion of the original calipers  :X

So these are the 2.8i capri disks with the capri calipers as well. It's just i can get a brand new set of disks for about £30.. and all i'll need to source is the capri calipers?
The spacer, what's that then a large washer or a made up spacer of so much thickness.
cheers

As far as I know discs are Capri 2.8. Calipers not sure, Granada if I remember correctly with a spacer in between to accomodate vented discs. Pads are RS2000 Escort

And you indeed need spacers between hub and discs.

Probably easier to order complete kit through S&S or Robsport.
Won't get this finish though  :P

I would be chucking them under 15" minilites anyway, I suppose if your doing this sort of upgrade, then you should really be looking at bigger wheels.
I was running original alloys, but it is really hard trying to find locally any decent tyres to fit a 185/70 13 tyre. The amount of times i asked for yok's, and was told NO!!! but we have these really good wiganeeze tyres at £10 for four fitted ::)

When I put these brakes under the DHC I did fit the original steel wheels to see if they fitted. They do ... but it's tight, don't know how they compare with th eoriginal alloys.

Maybe someday when I've nothing better to do  ::) I might put one on to see if they fit

this is the same setup I run/ran on the rally car, Capri 2.8i discs & calipers (calipers are just M16 calipers fitted to lots of Fords, but with spacers in the calipers for the vented discs), and Mintex M1144 pads for the same.  As Beans says you will need an adaptor to take the TR hub onto the disc, I got mine through our good friends at S&S.  Running standard alloys I needed the thinnest of spacers to get clearance, again I just got from S&S for ease!

This combined with standard 5 speed rear drums & shoes was adequate..though I was starting to get through a lot of rear shoes (especially with the hydraulic handbrake set up..  :B :P)
