  2. I've lost track of events in the last few weeks after cramming in a years worth of Holidays, Car shows, Beaulieu Auto jumble and charity Collecting at Goodwood revival all in the last few weeks plus preparing a sick Olaf and working at the Bubble Car museum at its busiest time. However like the best plans its all coming together at the last minute! In the boot I will have a semi professional socket set plus a good trolley jack and a myriad of spanners and screwdrivers plus the following spares ( some are weird but those that have done this event will know how precious they are!) A set of 8 Rockers ( Tappets) that will fit all SC four and six cylinder engines ( You would be extremely careless if you break more than eight!) A brand new in the box alternator which is standard fit for most Triumphs. 5 3/4" Sealed beam inner and outer headlamps ( one of each) plus H4 bulbs and other bulbs . Hose Clips, Gaffer Tape and a variety of 2000 water hoses. Front wheel bearings for the 2000 range. A complete electronic 6 cylinder Distributor with cap and leads. Also a set of ignition leads in good working order... also got spare points and a condenser (Lucas) Yes .... A J type overdrive solenoid ! Timing light and static testers , a spare coil ( 12v not ballasted) . A colour tune . A spare 123 Distributor cap A full set of driving belts ( 2000 range Water pump and alternator and steering pump). big can of oil , Dot 4, and water.
  3. Jacked up the front and adjusted the front near side wheel bearing this afternoon. Checked all the fluids and did some polishing of the rocker cover dash pots and the radiator.
  4. Triumph Stag for Sale. Club Member Colin Stretton is reducing his car collection (cant drive them all) and has for sale a Non original colour Mettallic Brown Stag . The car has just completed over a Thousand Miles on the Border Raiders event where it performed faultlessly (although there is slight vibration from an unbalanced bearing in the drivetrain which appears only at certain speeds ) . The car was subject to a full respray a few years back and has some minor paintwork issues . Engine 3000cc V8 (Original) Gearbox Manual Overdrive. 28MPG on recent run (August 2021) Excellent Hard and Soft Tops superb original interior £12,250 Colin Stretton Home 01288 321646 Mob 07801 731653 Car is in Devon/Cornwall Borders and will Drive away 41000 Miles Sounds fantastic!
  5. Hi Everyone. A couple of years back I sold my Mk1 2000 Saloon ‘Evie’ to my good friend Colin Stretton down in Devon . Colin has decided to reduce the size of his collection and has decided that Evie is up for Sale . The car is a 1967 Mk1 saloon with an upright spare so pre facelift it has had just four owners from new and was bought from Agiss brothers in Upminster Essex . The first owner kept it garages fastidiously but did have a blow over paint job and some repairs to the front wheel arches . They were expertly done . The underside of the car is in exceptional condition. I bought the car in 2017from The late John Snook (the former membership Secretary of CT) after seeing it on the Club Stand at the Bristol and West Classic car show . I spent the weekend polishing every part of it and it was stunning . Whilst in John’s care the car was featured in the Classic Cars buyers guide with some fabulous photographs which can still be seen on line. I completed the Welsh Coast to Coast in the car after updating the electrics with relays for the lights a dynamator and replacing the drive shafts with modern updated ones . (All work carried out by Moordale Motors) . These changes make the car thoroughly useable as a Club Car. Those who know my story will remember that I bought the car with the intention of replacing its mechanical parts with those from Olaf my long term Mk2 saloon which was in dire need of some love to the bodywork. The late ‘ great’ Derek Pollock’ talked me out of it with a short sentence “ It still won’t be Olaf” when my own car returned from a ground up restoration I had two beautiful Triumphs and little to do but maintenance. I can only drive one at a time and I like to play with my cars hence Evie was sold to Colin . It’s a truly lovely original car that can be closeted and shown or used for Club events . Both Colin and I would like her to go to a Club Member. Triumph 2000 Mk 1 Conifer Green (Original Colour ) Cellulose. Original Wheels with hub caps Red leather interior (as fitted) Push button radio (concealed behind centre console) Engine 2000 (Original) Strombergs Gearbox Manual 4 speed (non overdrive) Diff - Standard Mods - Dynamator (alternator conversion that looks like a Dynamo) Uprated drive shafts headlight relays (to prevent damage to switchgear) Needs replacement front door seals price £9950. 6. Come and Join us and have a look around Historic Lincoln . Roman City walls enclose the Castle and Cathedral which is one of the finest in England . Meeting up in the Public Car Park in Union Road gives easy access to the Cities attractions and The Stokes Lawn Cafe which is in the car park and is the site of England’s very first Mental Asylum ( very appropriate lol) The food is excellent! (See website for menu) . A morning out for car nuts and their families .
  7. Lincoln Breakfast Meeting 9am Sunday 29th August , Public Car Park , Union Road , Lincoln ,LN13BU . I’ve had a lot of interest in my post for this . For information it’s a Public Car Park so charges apply but it’s well sited providing easy access to the Castle the Cathedral (although it is Sunday Morning) there are several pubs restaurants and Cafes as well as shops and souvenir shops . If you wish to visit any particular venue please check the relevant website for opening times . Looking forward to seeing you all. https://www.facebook.com/groups/club.triumph/permalink/10159664708683729/
  8. New Rocker Arms for the Log and a name change! whilst in the warehouse of TD Fitchett’s discovering a rocking horse poo mine of rare Triumph parts I purchased a nice new set of rocker arms for The Flying Log AKA Amy . I’m fed up with him/ her being transgender so I’m going for Male and a new Monica … Marmite . I once showed the car at a TSSC show and was told by the judges who poured over it that it was probably the most immaculate original Triumph at the show … buts it’s Brown Sir and therefore couldn’t be allowed to win! ( You can see why I never joined), Russet Brown divides opinion like no other original Triumph Colour (with the possible exception of Magenta) . Marmite has new vinyl wing decals some nice shiny new headlights and although the new tappets didn’t improve the noise much they certainly have improved the drive . Another new choke cable from Rimmers snapped the first time it was used but judicious straightening of the old inner with a new outer cable makes for a smooth operation in use . Marmite did bite my arm whilst balancing the carbs though !
  9. It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of CT Vice President , respected Triumph Journalist, Motoring Author and the former head of the BL competition department Graham Robson on Friday 6th August 2021 . I’m sure all our thoughts are with his family at this time . Farewell Graham .
