  1. I haven't seen an entry form to fill in and Katy and I expressed an interest on here some time ago. Are we in or not? Jim.
  2. You mean the same committee that had input on the previous website format despite having little or no IT knowledge? That went well. Don't take that as a criticism. It is what it is and we've all moved on. Times have moved on too and most people access the internet and social media through their smartphones nowadays. I have an android phone and have to go onto the internet via Google, searching for Club Triumph, then tapping on the search engine result to access the website. A pretty clunky way to access Club Triumph when a tap on an app would be far more convenient in the same way we access Whatsapp or Facebook. Not everyone has the knowledge or skills to set up their phone themselves for quick access to the website. If we want more people to use the website, then the path to Club Triumph should be as simple and convenient as possible. Surely, that's what we all want? Discuss. Jim.
  3. Does Club Triumph need an app to complement and mirror the website? Probably a ton of work to set it up and keep up to date. Just asking, not volunteering. So, probably not then. Would be good though to able to click on a button on the smartphone and log straight into the Club Triumph website. It would, undoubtebly, increase the number of visitors to the website. Jim.

    Nuala Dowie

Nuala had sold the hotel some months previously and was enjoying her retirement in a cottage opposite the hotel. Jim.
  5. Here's the third and possibly our final video of the 2023 Round Britain Reliability Run. This time, we featured the start at Knebworth. Jim. https://youtu.be/5TSf9ogxHrA
  6. Hardly ever rains in Scotland. Honestly. Jim.
  7. This time it's the control stop at Land's End. Jim.
  8. Here's our jaunt around the country courtesy of YouTube. Jim. https://youtu.be/K3r1hiZw5-k
  9. Bruce, Old age doesn't come on it's own. A week before the Round Britain, my back went and I completed the event with the assistance of painkillers. I think the time has come to pass it on. I've spent a fortune getting it to where it is now but my old bones say enough. Was looking at BMW Z3s but Katy fancies a Z4 Coupe from 2006 to 2009 and I kind of agree with her. Preferably a black 3.0 Sport with a manual box. But who knows. I may have changed my mind next week. Jim.
  10. Chris, Put Katy and I down for next year. Not sure what car we're using as I've a mind for selling the Spitfire. Jim.
  11. Where, when and how do we enter. Jim.
  12. Here's my exhaustive list of motoring events banned for having bright headlights. 1. ...... 2. ....... 3. .......... 4. .......... 5. .......... 6. ..... Oh, that's right. There aren't any. And I thought Halloween had come early with all this scaremongering. Conkers? More like bonkers. Keep grasping at straws. Jim.
  13. Spot on Andy. I have LEDs and try to leave a gap between me and the car in front, especially if it's another Triumph. That's also my braking zone if the car in front were to slow down or stop suddenly. And the Round Britain, magnificent as it is, is going to be banned for a few bright headlights? Really? Yes, really? Thank you Private Fraser. "We're all Doomed. Doomed ah tell ye!" Get some perspective man. I had more of a problem from moderns than any Triumph as, no doubt, did everyone else on the event. Only someone, who didn't take part, will never take part and despite not being a club member, feels his distaste for the Round Britain with his faux concerns and his opinions needs to be foisted upon all of us who had a great weekend enjoying our Triumphs in the manner that they made to be used. Anyone here have a totally ruined experience over the weekend by bright headlights? No, didn't think so. But no, the event is doomed ah tell ye. If you've nothing constructive to say ..... Jim.
  14. Actually ...... https://www.scollinsandson.co.uk/shop/ Jim.
  15. We made a singularly important error during the RBRR and that was to take any photos inside Gartcosh. If anyone has any photos, particularly showing scotch pies and would consent to them being in a YouTube video, we'd be very thankful. Jim.
  16. All RBRR pics from previous years are there. I agree it would've been nice if it was broken down into years run but this website is fairly new and the photos have been migrated from the previous two websites, so it's nigh on impossible to catagorise them into a specific year. Jim.
  17. It was bizarre. A couple of dozen white geese just standing there. A bit to the left of the photo, around the pumps, were goose feathers everywhere. Not sure what had happened but didn't expect this. Jim.
  18. This is the spot. https://www.clubtriumph.co.uk/gallery/category/18-round-britain-reliability-run/ Jim.
  19. Every Round Britain has a load of funny stories or occurences. Please share them here for everyone to enjoy. Here's one of mine. We pulled into Johnstonebridge Services on the M74 on the Saturday night to see this in the petrol forecourt.
  20. Paul, you're a very wise man. Jim.
  21. That's why they are so rare. Jim.
