  1. I got a 98 sq m steel building inc slab for about £25k. Building regs only required as under 100 sq m and 4m at ridge. The same sized brick/tile garage in front of it cost twice as much.
  2. Moving house to last!!! Whooo Hooo I will try and remember to mention it to Steve when I next talk to him.
  3. If you can wait a little while they could come south with Steve’s engine.
  4. Stop being a miserable old git! I can get you one, was looking forward to the curry. 🙂
  5. Looks like you only got half a Stag, so only half the trouble.
  6. The suggestion was to use Hagerty in US, who do an International policy. That then covers Europe apparently.
  7. I believe Pete has given you a few pointers, but as you have found, the insurance market has got more difficult to manoeuvre.
  8. My “smart” sat nav got me there Saturday with no delays at all, did look up and down at some proper queues mind. As had a stall, was on site at 7:30 Sunday, so never saw any queues.
  9. It may be worth actually contacting Pete Barrett at Cherished himself, I have noted you get a lot less personal service from others who work there. It is the Triumph and MG show this weekend, perhaps Pete will be there for interrogation purposes.
  10. Your original diff should have been a 3.27, an OD car would have been a 3.89, which give basically same overall gearing when cruising. The 3.27 is rarer. An OD and a 3.27 gives nice relaxed cruising, but you will probably need to drop out of OD more often. Check what you actually have at the moment.
  11. A few people have brought cars over the pond for the RBRR and insured the cars on US plates, so it is possible for UK events, well it was. There must be a solution, perhaps try contacting Pete Barrett at Cherished insurance, he is a CT member and has done long distance events.
  12. ISTR that early 1300fwd, late version f same and the TC had different manifolds. which part did you need? Fitchetts may have a tank in amongst the stuff they are clearing out.
  13. 28% overdrives featured on Big Healeys, Aston Martins and The old “Auntie” Rovers, I think. Not overly common. I was luckily given a Rover box that the owner had been trying to sell for a year or so without any luck.
  14. Finals were emailed out this morning, please read and digest. let us know if you did not get them, and if you have any questions. Colin
  15. I suspect most cars for sale will have issues, I have noticed that standards seem to have dropped as people just say “ well it’s an old car, they all have poor (insert non working part)” If you want a good car, buy a solid basis and work to get it up to spec. Buying a car with no issues is going to be expensive, and it will still have things not right. If all that is wrong with that one is engine and brakes, but rest is very good, I would probably buy it and get mending, it will probably cost more than increase in value
  16. There will be “finals” issued in a day or so. there will undoubtedly be “final finals” Saturday. We are anticipating there may be “final final finals” on the morning. Watch out for the emails and handouts.
  17. Some people’s wages have increased as much as Mikes pension. Apparently. 🙂
  18. The original C-post seal is moulded to give a good seal, the “universal” one did look inferior at keeping water out. lots of windscreen sealant should help. Try COH Baines for rear screen seal. It looks like a standard moulding,
  19. The seals have been available in past few years, as a reversible substitute that fits both sides. Not sure if still available.
  20. Morning Tim, We did have a chat at the time, and we forgave you. 🙂 It just makes it more memorable. Cheers Colin
  21. Matthew Many insurance policies cover non-timed navigational 12-car rallies, but don’t cover the timed ones such as the Friday evening CMC or SCCON ones, hence the minimum RTA insurance available for those events. Worth checking the wording of your policy. Some classic policies even include “competition insurance as standard “ which is very useful. Cheers Colin
  22. Don’t worry, my regular co-driver Chris got one with Geoff on it.
