PI ran well all through out the event, filled with E10 every time, never missed a beat, only the Speedo stopped working which we set up Jonathan's phone with a GPS speedo.

I have always made sure my co-driver is someone I know very well, as when your with someone for 48 hours you don't want friction within the car, and getting on with your crew is a key element of driving 48 hours! if you want to survive a RBRR!! As for this RBRR is was excellent, being my 5th RBRR, found this one a more relaxed and enjoyed just as much as the past RBRR, My co-driver Jonathan Ingram, was his first time and he really enjoyed it, (though it helps he loves driving) Yes does help to have experience of previous RBRR, My first RBRR 2008, I packed the boot with every thing, think even the kitchen sink 🤣 last 4 RBRR's basic stuff in the boot, the PI had the usual prep work check brakes, oil/filter change, tyre check (2 replaced) and 3 long journeys to events to check any other possible problems, pad and discs where fitted the week before. Preparation is the key to completing a RBRR. though some things you can't anticipate (blown head gasket for example). As for this qualifying event!! (Rubbish) it's a event for every Club member who wishes to take part and the raising money for a worth while charity!! You are not force to take part. Is all part of the adventure whether you a oldie or a newbie. If an't broke, don't fix it 😉 I don’t think anything about the event itself needs changing. My 2.5PI has had a fresh MOT in March, last weekend a run to Towcester to see a customer 300 miles round trip, won't say how much petrol was use but it was worth every mile🤣 as always never missed a beat.

The GT6 MK1 2 speed wiper motor is only fitted to GT6 MK1 and TR2 to TR5, They are available new without drive gear, but exchange only...so only other option is second hand, if you can find one,recently tried buying a second hand unit on ebay went for nearly a £100 and it needed a overhaul, or other option convert a later wiper motor to fit 😉

I went to bed at the normal time good nights sleep 🙂, got up at 6.00am as usual, booted the laptop up at 6.45am checking facebook and Jonathan Ingram had left a facebook notice "are we in yet!!" so I logged into Club Triumph and it went very smoothly and we are Team 52. Then had my breakfast 😄 Well done Keith 😉

Re-check that you have the big end caps the right way round, very easy to get them wrong.

Classic Driving Developments shaft are superior just fitting a set to a Vitesse £595.00 a pair, I have another set in stock     

Having fitted a set to a customers car last year, we was very impressed with them, I also sent a set to another customer, He commented on how good they where, fit wise very good even the finish was better than expected. I can do a set cheaper than £840 by the way  David.

Change them!! those 4 corners of your car keeps you on the road 😉 155/80/13 Kumho mid range tyre £43.20 including VAT and fitting, not worth putting budget tyres on because for a couple pounds more, better going with a mid range tyre.

Having just done a short engine this week for a 13/60 Herald, including new pistons, mains, big ends, oil pump, crank grind, boring and head re-faced etc, taken out striped and put back together and installed in the car, up running for the customer £1200 😉 Ready to collect this week. David.

Only 335 miles and about 6 hours to get to the start......if I take my time, and save some petrol (cough)   David

I fitted inertia seat in the front for one of my customers years ago so she could have the baby seat next to her, facing away from the windscreen, later when baby was older for facing forward, fitted another inertia in the back. Securon do varies seat belt, Give me a call I will explain how to fit them ;) David.
