  1. The Rimmers site would probably be attractive as site for housing.
  2. Years ago I used a firm in Nottingham to get a Vitesse tachometer recalibrated and reconditioned. https://www.speedograph-richfield.com/shop/instrument-repairs/tachometer-repairs No price on their website but am sure they were competitive at the time.
  3. Here are some pages from a Triumph Training booklet that show the sunroof.
  4. Is Mr Retroleads the business run by one of the Mr Fitchetts. I remember buying a set of leads for my Sprint engined TR7 from a Fitchetts. He seemed very knowledgeable. He sent another coil lead when the first one turned out to be too short (my mistake measuring).
  5. Always great to catch up with friends on the stand. The cuppa and sit down was a welcome break.
  6. Please let us know where the parts are. Are all the parts shown in the photo available? Do you have a price in mind?
  7. Please confirm location of the parts. If you already have photos please share them in this thread. Posting an image of fixed manifold may enable somebody to identify it for you.
  8. Thanks I think the chap from whom I cleared his garage had a Stag once.
  9. Is this a Triumph Stag water pump?
  10. I suggest adding a location where the car can viewed.
  11. https://www.farrellsgarage.com/tech_assets/LBC_wire_chart.pdf Another item from Farrellsgarage shows a comparison of Lucas and US wiring guage.
  12. Looks great. Where is the car and do you have a price?
  13. I am replying to your post from my Linux Mint laptop. I can see and use reply box. Have you tried clearing recent history in FireFox? What version of Linux Mint are you running? It has been updated recently but I have not updated yet.
  14. Today I lifted my pillar drill onto my bench.
  15. This annual show is coming up soon. You can read more here about the club attending: I will been joining the crowds. I wonder who else is going?
  16. The magazine editor contact details are in the magazine
  17. I don't have any knowledge of this particular car. Have you tried contacting the pre 1940 Triumph motor club https://www.pre-1940triumphmotorclub.org/?doing_wp_cron=1704385503.6511850357055664062500 I write a blog about Triumph car dealers. Do I understand that your grandfather worked at a dealership? Do you have any info about his time there prewar?
  18. Also fitting wider tyres than standard will make it harder work. I have a Spitfire rack on my Vitesse which makes the steering quicker but even heavier. If you want to use your car in town and be able to park it easily you may want to stick with a normal wheel. However if most on your driving is out of town a smaller wheel may not be such an issue.
  19. Have you tried traders who sell used items such as Wins International and Spitfire Graveyard
  20. I suggest actually talking to the trader. Their adverts will be focused on supplying a full set to somebody switching over to wires. I remember buying a single minilight replica from a trader years ago.
  21. Looks to a set with both UNF and UNC. Whilst many Triumph fasteners are UNF some are the courser ie less threads per inch UNC. You will be able to use the thread guage to test both the taps and fasteners. Older sets are probably made of top quality steel Well worth saving and adding to your tools.
  22. The Surgeons' Hall Museums are well worth a visit. The Christmas market is great place if you want sausage and largar. You can get a different view of the city from the top of the hill behind the old parliament building.
  23. I understand that some other shows include much cheaper or even free parking. Apparently the motorcarvan show managed to get a trade association to pre pay for the car parking so visitors get it for nothing. A couple of my favourite traders decided not to attend. The fees charged are very high if you book ahead. Some bargain space available at short notice annoys those who have paid full price. The were problems caused by the repeated cancellation during the COVID era. I think both ABTools and C J Auto may have decided to not attend this show anymore.
  24. People willing pay Amazon, eBay, PayPal fees and foreign money fees why would you expect charity donations to be handled for free? The alternative would be to take an admin fee from the donation.
