  1. Am I right in thinking that you are trying to complete the entry separately and from two separate devices? Could it be that if Pete has entered on his device, then Pete will also have to submit your entry as well?
  2. Just seen it on my work PC, but my lap top at home wouldn't show it. Oh well. 🙄
  3. I've requested an entry too. Not had a reply yet though. 😕
  4. Looks good, but currently out of stock. 😞
  5. I'm glad someone's come up with a sensible reply. 😊
  6. I don't think so Wendy because we would have had this issue more on the RBRR. It's worth checking though.
  7. I have no idea, possibly. What I do know is that I've never had so much trouble with this car since I converted it to Lucas fuel injection, so I'm seriously considering going back to carbs at the moment. I cant be doing with unreliable cars. đŸĢ¤
  8. Well, I did get home........but when I turned the engine off to open the gates to my driveway, it wouldn't bloody start again. It did this on the fuel pumps at Oakhampton as well. ☚ī¸
  9. Cheers Tim, I re-fitted the 123 this morning with a new rotor arm and so far all is good. The car has got me to work anyway, I've just got to get home now. 🙄
  10. Yes, I do know what a dipping mirror is thanks, but Mk1 Saloons don't have them and I don't want to reduce forward visibility further by adding a second mirror.
  11. I heard quite a few grumbles on the RBRR about the brightness of some of the cars headlights. (On Triumphs, not normal road users) I have to say after a witnessing a few blinding headlights myself I have to agree with them. Especially the light blue TR2 which seemed like it was stuck on full beam all the time! A few stags with all four lights on at the front were pretty blinding as well. Not pleasant when concentrating on heavy rain and pitch darkness.
  12. Many thanks Wendy, I have a new rotor arm, so I shall be trying that. Colin Wake was here this morning and measured the resistance on my current one and a brand new one and there is definitely a difference, so that could be the problem.
  13. I bought a car with a powerspark distributor last year. I replaced it straightaway as I've been where you are before. Poor quality rubbish parts that don't last long at all.
  14. Our (Team Spotlight) funny moment was when I was too impatient to wait for the men's toilet at Skiatch and used the ladies only to watch the lock fall apart when I shut the door leaving me locked in there! I urgently rang my co-driver Davemate, who didn't answer, and then rang Richard Warr who did answer and came and released me from my prison. 😅
  15. Thanks Alex, I was gutted as well mate. We had a beer & curry night lined up after the event with my team mates which obviously never happened, plus I still got the bill from the hotel as well even though I never got there. Seven RBRR's now and this is my first DNF. ☚ī¸ Regarding the breakdown, I did have cavitating pump issues at Popham Airfield which resulted in the car refusing to start, but once we had got more air to the Lucas pump it started no problem. However, it just completely died on the M25 without warning. I couldn't hear what the pump was doing as it was too noisy. Further investigations at present have revealed the issue to be with the 123 distributor. A test on Monday morning showed that it was providing a very erratic, intermittent, and weak spark all at different times and to different plugs. (sometimes no spark at all on certain cylinders) I know the 123 is supposed to be bullet proof, but I fitted this in 2013 and you know much mileage I would have done in the past 10 years. (RBRR's, 10CRS, C2C's, HCR's, Mops tours, etc) I've currently got my spare 45D dizzy with points and condensor fitted and the car is running fine, so this will do until I consider my options.
  16. From what I've gathered so far, a lot of cars running Pi had pump issues. The list so far is: Ian Iglis, Doug Thompson, Dave Harvey, myself, and now you as well Pete. I'm wondering if it's the petrol that's causing these problems? (We couldn't always get E5, so had to resort to E10 in places) The other issue is that KMI are no longer interested in refurbishing the Lucas stuff, so our options regarding repairs, replacements or upgrades are quite limited. ☚ī¸
  17. Fantastic RBRR without a doubt. This is an event where you will hear noises from your car that you would never have heard before and probably wont hear again once you get home. (bearings running for 48 hours non stop can really play havoc on your mind, especially when you're tired! 🙂) Many thanks to the organisers, marshalls, co-entrants and even the people (including photographers) who stepped out to support us on our travels. Already looking to the 2025 event, especially now I have 'unfinished business' from this one. See you at the start. 🙂
  18. To quote others, well done to the marshalls to making this possible. 2 of Team Spotlight managed to get a good pic. Many thanks 🙂
  19. Me not hiding my disappointment very well after an enforced retirement 40 miles from the finish. ☚ī¸
  20. I'm not very good at sleeping anyway. I woke up at 5.30 this morning and tried to get back to sleep but just couldn't. RBRR nerves/apprehension/excitement I guess. I'll be fine though, as I said, I'm not very good at sleeping. 😐
  21. Are you telling people to park up in front of the sign and go to sleep? Thus spoiling the chance for other people to get a decent pic?
  22. Good point, well made. By the time we've got to Lands End, we (and our cars) have accomplished a magnificent achievement, so it goes without saying that we all want a pic of our cars outside this famous Landmark. so lets keep it clear and use it for photos only. Good luck to everyone on the run. 🙂
  23. Thanks for the reply Tim, I totally agree that Tina and Andy do a great job and wasn't criticising anyone, I was simply asking if there were any plans to have any more made. Glad to see it's being addressed. Thanks.
